Jody werker, RN • newborn screening Program MANAGER
A nurse since 2014, Jody serves as the Newborn Screening Program Manager at the Community Health Clinic. Since 2018, she has specialized in coordinating care for newborns with complex conditions like SCID, SMA, and Inborn Errors of Metabolism. Her clinical expertise is recognized statewide through her role as Co-Chair for the Indiana Perinatal Genetics and Genomics Advisory Committee, where she sits on the advisory committee that helps shape screening standards for the Indiana Department of Health.
Jody’s career is rooted in a passion for pediatric care developed at A Rosie Place and Elkhart General Hospital, where she started her career. Outside of her professional work, Jody and her husband are the proud parents of five adult children and one high schooler. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to the many lacrosse games her college and high school children play in, and baking.
